1st Plugfest of the Industry Alliance VHPready e.V. in Berlin
On June 6, 2018, the Industry Alliance VHPready invited to the first VHPready Plugfest in Berlin to give interested parties the opportunity to practically test the networking of decentralized energy systems and to investigate interoperability aspects.
VHPready defines as a cross-industry standard how decentralised energy systems can be harmonised in terms of data formats, communication interfaces and security requirements via gateways to form virtual power plants.
Thirteen companies took the opportunity to test the interoperability of their devices and software components with the VHPready standard and to exchange views on the current market developments. The workshops of the test platform Gazelle from the FH Technikum Wien and NettedAutomation on the subject of JSON objects in energy systems gave suggestions for this.
With 2G Energietechnik, Beck IPC, energy & meteo systems, Fraunhofer FOKUS, HMS Technology Center Ravensburg, KISTERS, Klöpper-Therm, LichtBlick, RheinEnergie, SAE IT-systems, SSV Software Systems, Tiani Spirit and TÜV Rheinland, institutions from various sectors of the energy sector took part in the Plugfest. Technical details were tested, application cases for VHPready were discussed and development perspectives were exchanged. "For VHPready it was the first plugfest. We wanted to give IT-developers and technicians the opportunity to test VHPready live and offer a forum for joint exchange. The productive and very cooperative atmosphere makes us confident for the continuation of our activities", says Klaus-Dieter Walter (SSV), member of the board of the Industry Alliance VHPready and co-initiator of the Plugfest. "The practical experience and the joint technical exchange are essential to advance our initiative and to establish a market penetration of VHPready as a standard for the networking of decentralised energy systems. We also reflected on our technical effectiveness and exchanged valuable ideas for further development."
