VHPready-Workshop at FLEXCON 2017 in Amsterdam

FLEXCON 2017 is organized by the Flexiblepower Alliance Network (FAN) and offers workshops and inclusive talks on smart grids, blockchain, energy markets, demand response, transactive energy, smart homes etc.

In his capacity as an Executive Board member of the Industry Alliance VHPready e.V. Mr. Klaus-Dieter Walter (CEO, SSV Software Systems GmbH) offers a workshop on November 21, 2017 at 2:45 pm. The workshop will look precisely at the open industrial standard for virtual power plants.

The workshop with the title “VHPready – Open industrial standard for the steering of decentralized power generators”  will be held in English. The items on the agenda are:

  • 1. Short introduction to VHPready e. V. and virtual power plants (VPP): Who is the VHPready e. V. and what are we doing? VPP: only a simple cluster of electricity generators, loads and storage systems?
  • 2. VHPready technology building blocks: VHPready control center and VHPready gateway. IT security, remote access and control protocols for the WAN connection between control center and gateway. Data points for different decentralized energy systems.
  • 3. Physical and logical connection to decentralized energy systems: Details of the physical interfaces and the “VHPready 4.0-specific media break”. What protocols are used within different systems and how to interface to these protocols?
  • 4. VHPready use case: What data points are necessary to integrate a CHP (combined heat and power) system? How to interface the VHPready 4.0 gateway to the CHP system controller? What are the challenges with micro CHPs?

FLEXCON 2017 will take place on November 20 and 21, 2017 at “Pakhuis de Zwijger” in Amsterdam. The VHPready-Workshop will take place on November 21 at 2:45 pm.
