The Industry Alliance VHPready e.V. is pleased to announce the expansion of the Executive Board with effect from June 1st, 2017. The candidates, being proposed from the members, Prof. Dr. Xianzhang Lei (Global Energy Interconnection Research Institute Europe) and Klaus-Dieter Walter (SSV Software Systems) were elected with large majority (more than 90%) at this year‘s annual General Meeting. They complement the existing Executive Board, which consists of Dr. Thomas Luckenbach (Fraunhofer FOKUS), Hanno Balzer (Vattenfall) und Claus Sprave (Lichtblick).
Prof. Dr. Xianzhang Lei is Director General of the European Representative Office of the State Grid Corporation of China and General Manager of State Grid’s Global Energy Interconnection Research Institute Europe, both located in Berlin. Prof. Dr. Lei has published over 130 papers and possesses more than 30 patents in the fields of renewable energy and Smart Grids. Before, Prof. Dr. Lei has been working for the Siemens AG, Erlangen, Germany. He is convinced that international norms and standards are of vital importance for a successful energy transition and the implementation of the required technologies. Especially with regard to further development of VHPready Prof. Lei will focus on integrated energy, storage systems as well as e-mobility.
Klaus-Dieter Walter is a founding member of Industry Alliance VHPready e.V. and CEO of SSV Software Systems GmbH in Hannover. He specialized early in the development of microprocessor-based systems in industry communication. Today he is internationally known as an expert for industrial data communication through his presentations, seminars as well as his books and articles in journals. Furthermore he is chairing one of four working groups of the Industry Alliance VHPready e.V. and stands for the provisioning of application-oriented and market-based modules with regard to the further development of the VHPready standard. They will facilitate the implementation of the VHPready standard and thus help their world-wide dissemination.
