On 15th of May 2017, the IES-Austria project team organised an expert workshop on
Project IES – Integrating the Energy System
at this year’s Smart Energy Systems Week in Graz, Austria.
The IES project team under guidance of the Technology Platform Smart Grids Austria presented an adapted methodology (from IHE) to ensure interoperability in the energy system and discussed the corresponding procedures with 20 participants.
The IES project homepage provides comprehensive information about the IES project. As one practical implementation of this methodology, the first exemplary interoperability profile was developed on Virtual Power Plants. The profiles use existing standards, e.g. IEC 61850, and rely, among others, on the open industrial standard VHPready 4.0 developed by the industry forum VHPready e.V.. Go to Use Cases to see the first use cases for the domain Virtual Power Plant. The IES team warmly invites you to leave technical feedback on its work in the comment fields of the respective page.
The IES team would also like to inform you about the next steps: “In July 2017, we plan to publish the first profiles for test implementation. They will be used to prepare for a webinar in October 2017, which represents the basis for our Plugfest in November 2017. At the Plugfest, we will discuss possibilities, methods and barriers of implementation using (your) real prototypes. Our goal is to participate in the “Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise” IHE Connectathon in The Hague from 16th to 20th April 2018. IHE Connectathon will open its doors for other industries in 2018 for the first time and IES was invited to be among the firsts to join. In addition to the test events, presentations will be held and working groups will be formed to find more partners for the ever-growing IES community.”
